Goodyear F1s 265/19 or 275/19 on 19" DPEs 10" wide 35 offset?
Got a set of 19" DPEs coming from LongTran and the Cali Cartel.
I understand that the on 10" wheels, the 256s will not rub, but it leads to a bit more stretch than I would like personally. So, I was thinking that some 275s would be just the ticket. Question is, will the 275s rub? Anyone have any real experience with this? I have searched but what I find is a bunch of "I've Heards" or "I Thinks". What I was hoping to pluck from the combined tuner wisdom here is a real concrete answer. NO you will not rub with 275s Or Yes they will rub you dick now Piss off and roll the 265s Carlito's way... (Badum dum) Here's what The tire rack has to say regarding the differences in the two tires.. Would appreciate greatly some real experience here. This is my first attempt at some after market wheels and tires and I want it to go smoothly. I appreciate it, Rev

One consideration is that the 275 width OD matches the front 235s exactly.

Gentlemen, I know this may seem to be a really basic "SEARCH" sort of thing, but I did search and will continue to search, but was hoping somebody would have some expert input.
I am thinking that given the width of the two tires, that if 265s fit, so would the 275s but Maybe not??? and then Im here begging for some input.

Aren't the fronts on those 19x8? Then I would run 225/35/19 and 265/30/19. The overall diameter matches and they're few lbs lighter than 235 and 275. Probably drives and handles better in all aspects.
Also if i lived in seatle i would go with General Exclaim UHP, they're very good and also better in foul weather than GY GSD-3s. And 225/35 weigh 21lbs and 265/35 weigh 24lbs vs. GY 24lbs 235/35 and 275/30 28lbs. They're cheaper too and longer treadlife. And it doesn't hurt that they are a lot cheaper, like $400 less for a set Last edited by 6MTFTMFW; 08-02-2007 at 09:56 PM.. |

Besides, The Goodyear F1s are some of the best wet weather tires out there. :rocks: But, we will see. BMWs own replacement 19s are 235s 265s. 225s and 265s are likely to create just as much understeer as 235-275, it's the same ratio. Better handling would be 245s all around, that would be ideal. Dial out much of the Lawyer approved staggered understeer. Maybe I'll do 245/275 but most likely I am just going to do 235/265 unless I can get a good solid answer.

The reason I have some hesitation is the overall diameter difference and width difference is pretty freaking minor. Just a few mils... Doesn't seem like that should make any difference... But that's why I'm all full of questions and doubt...

I agree with you on the "feel" or lack there of with the general's that's why im burning through these to get some others... anyway, the 275's in the rear slightly rubbed for the 1st 1200 miles on them on the very most outer edge. It would rub if im on the freeway hitting decent bumps leading into over passes or dips in the road. Pretty much over 35 mph and hit a decent dip or bump, yea it rubbed a little, not enough to make me want to roll the fenders though. However, when I get my next set, im going with the eagle f1's and I am going to roll the fenders ever so slighlty just for my piece of mind... Hope this helped a little man..

Yeah Yeah... I know I know... It's just the 265 on a 10" wheel... I don't want the extra Stretched look... But I think I can learn to live with it, rubbing is probably my biggest concern. Though I am not against Rolling the fender a little if that is all it takes.

I know how you feel. I have the stretched look but I have gotten used to it. Also I have been told that it is also better to have the tire a little stretch. You get better handling out of it.

goodyear f1's are oversized. THEY'RE HUGE!!!! I would go with 265 in the rear. Its not going to look very stretched. I have 19x10 dpe's in the back with gy f1 gsd3's 265's so I'm not just guessing. I'm slammed on kw v2 tho so 275's might be ok if you're not going to lower it. Dont ever underestimate the difference between one brand of 265's to another. The difference can be dramatic.

Hey Rev the tire closest to you is the front, look at the rear and you can see how the 35 offset sits
