335 Cold Start-up: Engine Making knocking noise

Apologies as I assume this topic has been covered numerous times.

I started up my car this morning and noticed a very pronounced knocking noise coming from my engine. My steering wheel and shifter were vibrating much more than usual and soon after, the service engine light came on. Just trying to figure out if this is normal and what the cause is if it isn't? Definitely doesn't seem normal. I drove to car for a block, turned it off then turned it on again after a few minutes and the problem seemed to go away and the engine light disappeared.

I uploaded a video to youtube to show you guys what I'm talking about.

That sounds pretty bad. I see you have a 2010, why don't you have the dealer take a look?

That sounds like my car when I had misfire. But I own a N52 I'm not sure if it could be the same issue with the N54.

My car would shake and sound like a truck on start up in the morning with a leaky/bad injector.

Woah... I was just coming here to post about this same exact thing.

Yesterday I was the last one to leave the office so I closed up the gates (parked my car past them so I could physically lock them). I don't usually have my car idling where I am outside of it, so maybe this is not the first time its happening... anyways I heard what I could best describe as a knock - it would go away and then come back after a few seconds... almost sounded like a classic V8 that was making one last "lope" before stalling.

Edit: Found this http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=667559 - also, my noise did not sound very bad, just abnormal for it to keep...

It was the fuel injectors and spark plugs. The injectors were dirty and clogged, and the spark plugs needed to be replaced (i forgot which cylinders exactly). All spark plugs and injectors were replaced under warranty and the car has been running fine ever since.

Do you have a 6MT OP?

It sounded like a miss and when it misses the DMFW makes noises like that.

Yeah I do, but what's a miss? And what's a DMFW? If you're saying I miss-shifted, then no I don't believe I did.

Misfire. When the engines not running right like in the vid.

DMFW means dual mass flywheel.
