How do I know if I have base or prem sound?

Trying to figure out if I had base sound or premium/logic7 without taking door panels or anything off. Any way to find out?

do you have tweeters on your A pillar? If not, you have base.

If you do, do you have a center channel speaker on top of the dash by the windshield? If yes, you have Logic 7. If no, you have HiFi.

I do not have a tweeter on my A pillar. The tweeter is on my door near the A pillar on the triangular black piece.

Mine don't say HK. I think i have base. Can anyone show me a pic of either hifi or logic 7 only speakers?

If you have idrive you can go into tone settings than surround sound settings. It will say it right there logic 7.

post a pic quick of your tweeters on a-pillar please. if you have something I dont.. it will settle it for me, id have base.

Actually, the tweeter "appears" to be on the A-pillar. When I open the door, however, it's actually attached on the door on a "triangle" but abuts the A-pillar when the door is closed. I have 2-door convertible.

That's what I have on mine. The black triangular piece right? I dont know if that's what the other guys meant by a-pillar. Ugh

Right.

My iDrive doesn't have Logic 7 or anything else on it other than basic settings so that confirms I have merely stock.

This shows that base doesn't have tweeters even on the door. So hifi it is lol

base is no longer offered IIRC. Why? Because it sucks and is an embarrassment for this level of automobile.

2007-2009 - base 3-Series had Hifi Sound systems - 10 speakers, incl. tweeters near the A-pillar (4 total), and two woofers.

2010 - base 3-Series had a base Sound System - 6 speakers, no tweeters, two smaller subs under the seats

2011 - base 3-Series had a base Sound System - 8 speakers, 2 tweeters in the front, two smaller subs under the seats

2012 - base 3-Series Sedan had a base Sound System - 9 speakers, 2 tweeters in the front, and a center speaker

2007-2009 Premium Sound system named "Logic 7" NOT "Harmon Kardon" - 11 Speaker System with center speaker and more power from the Amp

2011 (and possibly 2010) Premium Sound System named "Harmon Kardon Logic 7" - due to using exclusively Harmon Kardon parts. Not sure about speaker configuration, but more power.

- I did some research, because I was curious about my Stereo System.
