Wrong choice of tires ?

Just did the first replacement of tires on 2006 330i at 17000 miles. I replaced the original run flats with Yokohama AVID H4S. Though the ride is less bumpy,
I feel I have lost the pick-up and accleration. Do you think AVID H4S is a wrong choice. Should I have gone for Advan S4 or Yoko Advant sport or Michelin sport PS2.

thanks.

not sure if you should have felt a decrease in performance.... they are decent tires.... obviously PS2's would have been better, but you have these for now.... maybe its all in your head... they weigh much less than ur stock runflats...

the yoko avid is a pretty tame (non high performance) tire

they're not really going to give you the same grip as the stockers (especially if you have sport pack)

most tire shops throw that type of tire on many normal sedans, but they won't give you much for performance

It's in your head, I'm sure the AVID H4S weigh less than the stock runflats.
If that's the case, you won't lose any acceleration, but in fact gain some because now you have less rotational mass.

Can't speak for the grip or handling of those tires though.

Grip would be a significant step down from stock, as would steering response and cornering. The difference is large enough to make the car feel sluggish and less connected to the road.

Might want to double check your tire pressure...

Dude,

I just talked to you on phone. So you suggest

bridgestone re050 pole position or gsd3 goodyear. I am not sure if my local wheel works have them, but I will try. If not Yokohama advan sport sound the other good choice.

thanks a lot.

Changed the tires to advan sport. Quite a lot of difference. Pickup and acceleration has improved a lot. Surprisingly even the mileage has imroved. Had to cough up 325 bucks more. Difference of $74 between Avid H4s and advan sport.
All season avid H4S were dragging the car badly.
