Guys living in condos/apartments, where do you keep your toolbox?

Contemplating a move into a condo with no garage, but not sure what to do with my Craftsman box. Anyone keep it in their closet? Sounds sketchy, but you gotta have tools handy.

I have a storage area on the deck that i keep all the simple tools. Other then that, me and a few friends rent out a 10x30 unit about 2 miles away from us. and keep hand/power tools, floor jacks, stand, pretty much everything you could ever need there. its 130 a month i believe.

I had to rent a storage garage as well. Thankfully there was one available in my community; but I have a pretty big MAC tools "maximizer" box 48x27x66 and a matching tool cart.

Back when I had an apartment, there was a storage closet right outside my unit door, which opened into a room roughly 4x10'. I put some shelves in there and stored cleaning supplies, extra paper products, and all my tools. Of course, I didn't have nearly as many tools as I do now. Don't know if I could even get my compressor through that door, and the management probably would have frowned upon me putting tapcons in their floor to secure it.

As above posted, it becomes furniure. My Townhouse doesnt have a garage but does have a decent storage room on the back patio that works for my tools. I dont have a huge tool chest by any means but my tools fill that room to the brim.

Put it wherever it fits! Life is too short not to have the right tools. If your SO objects, tell her to make a cover for it.

Seriously, I rebuilt a bike engine in the spare bedroom back in my 20's when I was living in an apartment. The old lady was cool about it, though -- she even helped me carry it up the stairs!

My friend did the similar thing in his college dorm, except he lived on the first floor and had a single.

I keep a toolbox in the car, some critical tools in the trunk (torx set for example) and just maintain contact with others who have the rest

My box will probably go tucked away in the closet, as I would like to avoid renting a storage space(even though a buddy of mine manages an A1 facility, and would give me a 7'x10' for $50 a month.)

Funny you should ask - I took the dimensions and some pics of my Cman tool chest to a seamstress and had her make a fitted cover out of some nicer lined duponi silk that matched the curtains at the time with the side with the drawers a simple flap design so that I could lift up and get into it whenever I needed. It was a corner lamp stand in a spare bedroom when I had an apartment with no garage.

HGTV and DIY TV channel rocks! LOL!
