RFT's suck

I had my car serviced and picked it up over the weekend. About 10-15miles after I drove it off the lot I got a freaking flat tire. I took it back to the dealer and they said I got a nail in my tire and they said I needed to replace the tire. I looked at the nail and it was dead center of the tire. My question is if an rft gets a nail in it. Can it be patched or does it need to be replaced. They also suck because of no spare tire and you can only drive so far on them. I know there are many posts about how sorry the rft's are.

I heard that you maybe able to patch up the hole from the nail. You just need to bring it to a nearby tire shop and i'm sure they have the equipment for it. Yeah, replacing a practically new RFT is very expensive. I think I'm just gonna swap them out for non-RFT after my OEM is done.

You would need the tire insurance. The 200 mi thing that your are referring to is the max distance that should be driven on the rft at zero pressure.
