Trying to Chose Wheels
Trying to choose a wheel for my Arctic e90.
My choices are 1. Sonic Tuning - ST1 in Silver; Low Pressure Cast Wheel. Great deal on them right now. http://www.sonictuning.com/wheels/19...1-e92-e93.html 2. Alufelgen CS7; Low Pressure Cast Wheel http://www.alufelgenwheels.com/wheels_type.php?type=cs7 3. Miro 111; Low Pressure Cast http://dfmclients.com/mirowheel/wp-c.../07/111_lg.png 4. Avant Garde M355 - M5 Style Wheel http://avantgardewheels.com/m355.php Unfortunately I can't find pictures of the wheels on my car. I want a strong wheel, but not into paying $4K for a set of forged wheels, so low pressure cast is almost a must. Not sure if the M355 is low pressure cast. Anyway, I'm leaning toward the ST1 because it has the polished lip. All the wheels I'm looking at are silver except the M355 which has some black on it. If it was just a pure money thing, I'd go with the ST1. I also don't want have wheels that look like everyone else. Suggestions??? Only those 4. Last edited by techwhiz; 10-02-2012 at 08:13 PM.. |

Have you considered either the ARC-8 or EC-7s since you're looking for a strong wheel? Our wheels are flow formed, and have great durability even after track and race abuse.

Unfortunately we only offer 17" and 18" wheels currently, we weren't aware that you were looking for 19" wheels. Good luck with your search!

Apex Arc8's although 18's can be had at 18.45lbs a wheel and waaaay below forged prices....I know you want 19's but those rims are really great. $1150 or so shippped too. I started this thread looking for inexpensive light wheels check it out. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=745082 |

This is a no brainer!
ST1's have a flat lip only - that look went out already. Plus, your cast lips will always be faded/cloudy compared to real polished lips. Miro 111 - Miro's are crap. Get LC818's instead of the Miro's. Alufelgen - Solid wheels, but done about 885034912 times here AG - The clear winner. Freshest styling, known quality, a dual finish that cast wheels can actually hold, and cheap pricing w/ wider options.

I guess weight is not a concern with the 335, but rw6 are much nicer than the GT7. Still, I will not retract my suggestion of Apex wheels. 18x9.5 arc8's concave and 18.5lbs. Those RW6 wheels like a good 26lbs a wheel.

Great choice on the wheels! We have been dealing with MRR for over 8 years now. We will stand behind their quality and also their warranty. Not to say we have never had any issues with the wheels, just like with any wheel company, however MRR has always honored their warranty and taken great care of us as a dealer which allows us to take care of the end user. We hope this helps with your wheel decision. We believe that upgrading your BMW should be a fun and exciting process. Last edited by Need4Speed_Motorsports; 10-04-2012 at 02:07 PM.. Trying to Choose Wheels

I keep seeing yet another wheel. MRR sounds good but for a little more (that's dangerous) there are a couple of choices. I've looked at the Sportline CS.16 and the Forgestar F14. I dumped the RW6 as a choice because I'm afraid of the chrome lip. Just one more issue to have. So now I'm torn. The GT7 has somewhat the look I want. (it's not forged though) The Forgestar F14 is well a Forgestar but I do hear bad things about the wait and sometimes iffy paint quality. The CS16 is rotary forged and looks like a CSL wheel and the pricing is pretty good. I don't think I can go wrong with any choice, but I do need to choose. |

Adamant on 19"
Well, it goes like this.
I like the way 19" wheels look. I don't plan on tracking the car and if I do I'll put the stock wheels back on. I'm buying TPMS for the new wheels because the tires aren't shot on the old wheels and I can use them for whatever. one of the fronts will be a spare on long trips. If I wasn't buying 19" wheels then I wouldn't buy any wheels at all. |

Mind is set on 19". I've decided to either buy the CS.16 or the Forgestar. I think I'll be okay. I had 18" two piece ATS wheels on my e36 M3. The barrel was spun but the center was cast. I lost one wheel in 7 years. I had 225/40 in the front and 245/40 in the rear. This corresponds to a sidewall of 90mm in the front and 98 in the rear. For 235/35 and 265/30 this corresponds to 83mm in the front and 80 mm in the front. I suspect the load rating of 1500 lbs or so per wheel will be okay. The suspension on my e36 with Bilstein, etc. was much stiffer than this e90 even with the sport package. Not going to convince to get the 18", I'm a bit stubborn. |
