Chrome in the winter
I've still not decided on what alloys I want (thought I did but I've changed my mind now) Looking at alloys with chrome lips.
What is the chrome like to live with during winter? Is it likely to get damaged from the road salts? |

Chrome is one of the least durable finishes for winter use. Stick with a painted finish or at least one that is clear coated (some polished or machined wheels have a clear coat on them).

If you keep your wheels clean, nothing happens.
use rim protector spray after you clean your wheels. It repels brake dust and other dirty stuff. Don't let the salt or other mud on the wheels for longer time (like 2-3-4 weeks). |
