Any home entertainment setup gurus out there. NEED HELP!

I have a digital cable box, a tivo series 2, and a bose 3 2 1 surround sound system.I cant get it to all work in conjunction properly. Anyone familiar with these products? I have cable from the wall going to the cable box in. Then from the cable box to the tivo input with s-video and audio cables. Then from tivo output to plasma tv via s-video and audio cables to tv input.I have audio cables going from tivo to bose surround sound. It should work but it doesnt.

try from the cable box to the 321? you should get a receiver, makes things much easier. maybe you have the wrong cables going from the tivo to your 321.

Thanks for responding.the wires from the tivo to the 321 are right.I think. All it takes is audio cables, right.I should try connecting the cable box to bose 321.ill try that tonight.I cant beleive I let electronics push me to the brink of insanity. The frustration is killing me.

You're trying to get TiVO audio on your 321, right? If so, cables from STB -> 321 aren't going to help you much

Do you always use your TiVO when watching TV? If so, you can pretend the cable box is a TiVO peripheral... run A/V from STB to TiVO, video from TiVO to TV, and audio from TiVO to 321. Now when you watch TiVO, you'll set both the TV and the 321 to the inputs the TiVO is connected to.

If you also use the tuner in the TV, run A/V from TiVO to TV and run the "monitor out" or "aux out" audio from the TV to the 321 for use when watching TiVO or the TV's internal tuner. In this case you'll set the 321 for the TV input for watching either TV-tuned channels or TiVO, and set the TV to the TiVO input when you want to use it.

Does your TiVO have both analog and digital outputs? it's possible you've selected one and are using the other, which would explain your lack of sound. I'm not familiar enough with the TiVO software to help you troubleshoot problems with it... but can you hear TiVO sound with the TV's speakers if you hook it up without the 321?
