Thinking of Doing Some SSRs... A little Photoshop helped.
We all have different tastes true enough, and I am not here to say that the SSRs are the Best looking wheel on the E92. But for my money getting a wheel that is strong, lightweight, and has actual certifications and standards behind it for a Bargain price? The SSRs are looking pretty hard to beat...
For under $3k with some quality tires, I think this may be the route I am going... In Black I think... Yeah... NOT Red, though I found it entertaining. Here's a few quick and dirty chops...

Simple and clean...
Was also thinking about the OZ, and of course the hot looking replicas in 19" size are tempting. Thoughts, opinions? Have also been thinking really hard about eliminating the Stagger and Going with 8.5"s all around with 245/35-18s at all four corners. Would improve handling and make tire rotation feasible...

not my favorite, but i like some wheels that others on this forum don't as well. I wouldn't listen too much to what other people say about something that is all about personal style. You might forget what it is that you really like and just end up going with the crowd.

Good functional wheel, but it's hideous.

The reason for posting something like this up, isn't to hear how great my taste in wheels is, or to make sure that everyone approves.
I see value in others opinions (especially other Owners) in their ability to provide a "Check your Head" commentary. A way to make certain that your judgment isn't WAY outta line and what you are thinking is going to work. Cause once in awhile, we all loose our freaking minds and decide something looks good when it's actually quite horrible. So, honest opinions are welcome and appreciated, over the top stuff is just annoying and unnecessary cause it muddies up the waters.

Love SSRs, had them on my Audi and I miss them. They look beautiful in gunmetal and in black.

LOVE! Are these the black 18" currently on sale? The other anthracite wheels with the polished lip have been disco'd.

Just ordered the other three that I needed...I am going with the non-staggered setup...18X8.5s on all four corners..with 235/40/18 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires.

Good wheels, the only thing with them is they are soft. The Type-C's are the single piece version, they are lighter than the Type-C RS's but aren't as strong. The Type-C RS's are the two piece verion, weigh a little more, but are stronger and would be better for street use.
The Type-C's are used on track cars often because of the weight, and if they bend they can be replaced. So just something to keep in mind. Oh and if your not familiar, the Type C's and Comp's are the same wheel just JDM vs USDM names. Also be prepared to wait quite a while for them, SSR hasn't been the most stable company in the last couple years.

The set that I have is only for track...I use to have three other sets of SSR-Comps on my 2000 Audi S4, my 1990 Miata race car and my 1991 Miata street car, and my 2005 Audi A4. All of them had the polished lip. I wish this new set had a polished lip...but it doesn't. I know all about bending rims..but I had good experiences with mine. I guess I avoid pot holes well..or dont hit the berms very hard.

That's kinda where I am at... After looking at em for a few days I am thinking that they do NOT have enough of a finished look for the BMW on the street...
So yeah...

IMO it is a great wheel.. But it just does not compliment the lines of the car at all. The Audi's roof line allows the wheel to flow. Your car is not going to be killed with these wheels but could really come alive with another choice.
Hmmm.

Yeah, I like the idea of black wheels still though... may end up with the 19" Breytons. No performance advantage, but they look nice...
Or just like you posted above the Ultras in Black, but the Silver looks good. Still looking for a good budget wheel and tire package... Actually Budget wheels, premium rubber.

Well, its not my cup of tea (take away from the lines of the car) but I understand you wanting a lightweight non-replica wheel. I had the same thoughts initially before I pulled the trigger on some M6 reps "custom" offsets, which i may eventually regret going with. I say go for it, if you end up not liking the result ebay the wheels.
