Dunlop SP Sport Maxx Tyres

Has anyone tried this tyre? In desperate need of tyres as mine are basically slicks.

Im currently running Michelin Pilot Sports, just fancy something different and the dunlop seems good value for money. Tirerack gave them a good review.

Whats people's opinions?

Not had them on my BM but had them on the S5 and they were great. Really grippy. Also used them through the winter and they stood up well on snow etc. although Q system may have helped there so not saying they'd work on RWD.

But all in all happy with them.

My ex used to have them as OE fitment on her Mini, and that car stuck to the road like glue. No idea about wear though.

Had them on my 335 once and they were "ok" not as good as Conti 3's I tried after.

There are a few Sport MAXX tyres. The Sport MAXX RT is supposed to be up there with the best tyres.

i still think the conti sport 3's are just the best all round tyre for sensible money. They are now fairly reasonably priced online, come in BMW staggered sizes and they stick to the road amazingly.

They are utterly superb and as good as any tyre in the dry, not quite 100% in the wet, but certainly still up there with the best of them. What they do have is great comfort and noise levels. My g/f has them on her brand new mini, and that thing is just un-stickable.

My mate has them on his E46 330ci as well, in 18" form with 255 rears, and once again, they have been the best tyre his car ever saw.

I had Dunlop SP Sport fast response on the merc before..upgraded from falkens..night and day difference for that car. Dunlops are very soft tyres so wear rate is quick too!
