Water Resistant Logic 7 Subwoofer?

Does anyone know whether the subwoofers located beneath the front seats of an e90 Logic 7 equipped car are water resistant? If so, how much water can the subwoofers resist before they are damaged? If not, what was BMW thinking, or rather, not thinking?

I think it's safe to assume that no outside water will enter the cabin, or touch the subs, due to their placement. It's just one of those things you really shouldn't be worrying about.

Now, if you spill a drink and get liquid on the subs, well,

Then again, if you spill a drink and get liquid all over your center stack, well,

As you can see, the only thing you have to worry about is yourself.

bmw like many other manufactures dont plan on having their cars in floods or taking them in the water (one way or another).

if your concerned over a downpour and some rain ends up inside the car , its no big deal. however if the rumor is true about windows opening by themselves and the car is drenched with water... well it wouldnt be pretty.

Well, it appears that I am my own worst enemy. Water bottle leaked into the sub box. I'm so pist I could

I hope the thing stops making nasty sounds after the water evaporates.

You could always run the seat back and clean it off. A water spill likely dropped more water into the sub enclosure than you think and being under the floor it isn't going to evaporate as quickly as it needs to if damage is to be avoided.
I can't think of anybody I know except my wife who would power up any electrical product "to see if it still works" after giving it a bath. You will be lucky if the only problem is a bad sub. If you shorted it you may have blown the amp as well.

Dumb move meets dumb luck. The thing works!

Btw, I didn't realize that I drowned the sub until after I powered it up. I had been driving across the state of New Jersey while trying to isolate the sound when I got home and pulled the offending bottle.

Would it be fair to infer that the sub is of the "water resistant" variety?

Who are you quoting when you say "to see if it still works"?

Water over the stack huh. iDrive equipped? I hope it ended well or at least not as bad as it sounds.
