Will the E90 take wheels from other BMW's as a

direct fit? It seems some E46 M3 wheels fit, but other's don't? Is this true? I'm sure it's been discussed before, but I couldn't figure out what to search for when looking.

No, not all BMW wheels will fit every car. It depends on a lot of different factors, including size, and offsets. The only consistency between BMW wheels is the bolt pattern, 5x120.

every BMW has a different offset combo.... the M3 wheels are probably one of the closest matched offset combo to the E90....

I would say the big deal that you would be concerned about on transffering an M3 wheel would be the rear.

The front wheel will generally be a high offset that can transfer no problem most likely around a 40mm ET. But the rear is were it gets dicey because most E46 M3's run a 20-25mm ET on the rears of the M3 and some run around a 30mm ET. The 30mm will work on your 328 but the 20mm will rub and the 25mm depending on width will require some tender loving care on your fender.
