330D Touring M Sport. Is the wait worth it?
Just spoke to my dealer about considering a last minute spec change to a 330D M Sport Touring (considered going up to 19"'s and adding the tints, but decided against it).
Confirmed that car is still scheduled for W39 build (ie, in 2 weeks time) and a delivery to me in W42 (beginning Oct 14th). Just 3 weeks from build to delivery. Staggering. Hope the build quality doesn't suffer. Not that I'm counting, but I currently have about 35 days (ish) to wait. Agonizing.

Corporate customer init . Paying full whack for the car has its privileges I guess.
Strange, I did have approx 15 days to wait. Now I have less than 7 and I'm even more anxious. Roll on next week.

Almost here
Just been told that my new F31 330D M Sport is landing in the UK Monday next week, and I should be able to get my hands on it sometime next week! Had a look at the F30 MSport last weekend and couldn't stop grinning for the rest of the day.
When I get it I'll update with pics and first thoughts. |

My sales guy asked me to go in today as they have a F31 330D in the showroom. EBII, 19", sun protection glass and the new nav. To get a feel of what my F30 will be like since I've not even driven or seen it before I ordered it.
Very nice. The demo of the new nav was pretty useless apart from seeing the interface as he couldnt show me the maps since it has to be registered. But he said the 3D with buildings etc was all very nice. Faster and an extra 5gb HDD storage. 19's are BIG.

I would have said to go for the tints and the wheels also.
But I think everyone's happy whatever they chose as it still looks great. Some have said they're happy they didnt choose the 19's. The tint, they had the rear tints on that F31. They were pretty dark from the outside. I got that myself just for some privacy/security. Can leave stuff in the back sometimes without it being so visible if it wasnt tinted. Have it on my golf currently, its pretty useful. But you can always do that after. Those 19's are BIG though. Sitting in the driver's seat was a nice place to be. He told me the steering wheel is the same as in the M6?

Week 52. lol.
Individual leather adds another 3 weeks roughly so I'm told. Ordered August 31st. Get the new nav though. See if we get the snow again this Christmas. I love the snow and everything but RWD in the snow and cold. Wont be able to let loose. When are you expecting yours?

Ordered 330d M Sport today
I've been circling this car for the last few weeks. Finally got a test drive of a 330d M Sport last weekend and that sealed it for me.
The 330d demo only just came in last weekend and my first F30 test drive was a 320d M Sport, just after I'd tried a C Class Coupe. Where the Merc had positively turned me off an hour earlier, the 320 put a huge grin on my face - it had so much feel and chuck-ability, along with a gorgeously supple ride. I nearly ordered one of those on the spot but I've been corrupted by grunt over the years, so looked at the 328i and the 330d. The 328i was impressive, but the 330d was incredible - huge, tectonic gobs of torque from 1,500 rpm on, and it even sounds nice! On spec, I focused mainly on stuff to improve the drive, but I added a couple of other nice things): - Estoril blue - Pro media - Visibility package - M-sport brakes - Adaptive M Sport suspension - 19" wheels (403) - Hydraulic sport steering - Folding mirrors (sick of thugs smashing my mirrors off) - Split-folding rear seat - Heated front seats - Brushed aluminium trim & high-gloss black trim finisher - Harmon Kardon speaker system Got some doubts on wisdom of ordering 19s - might mess up the ride and 'planted-ness' over bumpy roads a bit, but I'll switch to high quality non-RFTs if that happens. Not got a delivery week yet, but dealer said circa 6 to 8 weeks. Sounds like new orders are coming through more quickly now. Hope to get the car end Nov / early Dec - looking forward to it ...! |

Nice one
One word of caution - As you have ordered Pro Nav (609) they change over to a new version in mid November (Build week 45). 6 weeks delivery would put you into 'OLD' nav territory, even 8 weeks would be tight. YOU DO NOT WANT THE OLD NAV |

Obviously if you do get the option of the revised Pro Nav system then go for it, but if for whatever reason you don't get it then the 'old' Pro Nav system is still a fine piece of technology. Think mine is great - looks good, gets me to where I want to go and still impresses everyone who gets in the car
