Body shop Glasgow

Hi all, neighbour of mine hit my passenger door with theirs today in a bit of wind. Damage is one largeish chip through to the metal on the crease in the door about half way along the door. No dents etc at all that I can see.

Will need to wait until Monday to get a quote etc, has anyone had any work done by Douglas park body shop in hillington before? can I trust them to do a decent job?

Should I be considering anywhere else?

Car is mineral white, am I going to have a lot of trouble with colour matching?

Hoping this isn't too expensive to fix, neighbour has agreed to pay in full though.

Sorry can't help with recommendations in Glasgow, but I'm sure the folks on the Scottish section of the Pistonheads forum will have various opinions.

I use Burgoynes in Airth (just before Kincardine Bridge) - not the cheapest but damn good at what they do.

Try TouchUps on Southside near Hampden. Did great work on my previous car.

If the paint isn't broken you could get a paint less dent repair guy who'll fix at your house.

I've heard (from a body shop) that pearelscent paint is a nightmare to match, I guess if there's damage to the paint, it will be an entire side of the car that will need to be painted.

That's what I'm afraid of, don't think my neighbour will quite be prepared to foo the bill for that!

I've been through all that once before - I'd probably prefer just to touch in the chip myself and live with it rather than go through that again. It was on a Honda civic which was a kind of metallic Black/navy.

Due to a first disastrous attempt to repair a small bumper scuff and hip on wing, I ended up having both wings, bumper bonnet and drivers door done before it matched.....
