bought a bmw a month and a half ago from a dif province

I had temporary insurance on it until now. Me being the lazy ass I didn't bother to get it registered till the last day. However I seem to have lost my temporary insurance and the bill of sale/ temp registration for the car. What are my options at this point?

your only option is to contact the seller and get a duplicate bill of sale or something
or he/she has to go with you to register

Did you contact your motor vehicle dept and see what they will accept, or if they know of a way to get the documents you need? You're likely not the first "lazy ass" that's lost or misplaced these docs so they might be able to help steer you in the right direction

I doubt they'll do anything, unless the seller will be present too

if the car was transfered on your name already then you can go to the ministry of transportation yourself you'll just need your drivers license.

it'll make a difference if you tell us which province you live in and which province you bought it from.

If bought/sold in alberta, you can make yourself a bill of sale on a napkin if you had to and it'll work.
