Number Plate Thoughts - Pressed Metal or Normal?

Hi Guys

I have a private plate and am currently waiting for it to be changed over from my old Mk1 black TT. I had the pressed metal plate on it which looked awesome and in theme with the German Look.

However, I'm not sure if it will look as good on this car.. may look tacky?

Thoughts?

Cheers

Is that your car in your avatar? If it is then I can't see why it shouldn't look okay, imo there's nothing chavy-looking about a pressed metal plate.

Hi Cyprio

Thanks for the reply - yes that is my car in the avatar.

That's what I thought! But a number of people have said that it looked good on my old car and may look a but tacky on this. I love the pressed plate but for some reason it's now bugging me if I should go for a more clean, OEM look and stick with a normal plate.

Very confused!

This is a good website if you decide to go back to vinyl plates.

They should be legal - if they have the BS AU145d number etc on them.
The "german style" pressed ones are illegal because it's not a UK recognised font.

There are legal ones you can get, my mate got some for his VW from Dubmeister which are fully UK legal and weren't too expensive I don't think. They look miles better too
