lifts will work. you will need the adapter for the lift points.
I use a toyota corolla jack which fits perfectly in those plastic things.

What year toyota corrolla?

I can't find anybody selling the BMW jack for less than like $140, if the toyota one fits, I am sure its costs a whole lot less.

I picked up an aluminum floor jack from Harbor Freight and ordered a jack adapter from Josh.

Thanks, but I'm more interested in a carry in the vehicle solution. Also can be used for seasonal tire changes in the garage. If a tire is repairable with a plug, I'd do that on the side of the road once the wheel is removed. Only for long trips, otherwise I'll call BMW assist.

Does BMW assist always bring a flatbed?

I use a lift from a 1980 corolla.
You can get one from a junk yard.

A regular hydraulic floor jack and a block of wood work fine. The plastic lift points are tougher than you think.
