Feeling Shitty right now ... Tow Hitch backed up into my front bumper

Walk out to my car today and find a nice big dent in my front bumper. Punctured the plastic a little bit, and made 2 indentations. Look in front of my car and theres a green CRV with a small tow hitch on it. They line up perfectly.

I knock on the door, the owners are like 94 years old, and say they don't know what happend and they didn't do it. Call the cops, cop says he can't do shit. Call my insurance, they say i can file a claim but my rates might go up. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUUUUU :readthe thread:

Is there anything i can do? My car looks like shit now IMO, but this shit will probably happen again so i'm not even gunna get it fixed most likely. I'll just wait till 10 other ignorant people hit it...

If this happend to you, what did you do about it?

F it.....seems to be about right with people nowadays...damage your s*** and they don't know what happened. This f'in a***** at the office must have spanked my other car's front bumper. I mean the ahole has like 3 cars he keeps at the office, and he's constantly in a hurry rotating them. WTF is up with our society, when a single old man (probably his wife left him and took the kids) has 4 cars, storing 3 of them at work? It's sickening. And when he f's up, yep, my car has a damaged front bumper and he doesn't know how it happened either. Karma, right?

sucks!

Reminds me of this time I woke up to a bang at like 7am, didn't think of anything and kept sleeping.

2 hours later, I come outside to find my car totaled. It looked like somebody rear ended it going atleast 40 -50mph, both rear rims were cracked from impact.

It was parked in the street infront of my house and somebody had crashed into it.

They left a note with a phone # that had like 6 digits on it and looked like it was written by a 7 year old.

It was fun looking for the culprit. Turned out to be 90+ year old grandma that lived in a culdesac by my street.

it's tough with old people. you wanna have them pay for it, but you feel like a dick.. i mean.. they're old. they don't want to deal with it, you don't want to deal with it. the situation just sucks.

if it was me, i'd use it as an excuse to get an m3 bumper..

if it's not that bad, i'd just touch it up and wait til i get a new car

File a claim f*** them. A new front bumper will cost around $1000. Your insurance rates shouldn't go up that much. Or take them the old people to small claims court. I'm not a lawyer so that second option might not work...

You have some pretty convincing proof I don't see how you'd lose... I'd call up the old people and use the word 'sue' and they'll surely admit to backing up into you.

This will officially be the first time in history that anyone here is going to recommend putting a front license plate holder on. It looks like it will cover it right up.

I had a guy in college rub the entire side of my car leaving it completely rippled in dents. Cost me $2000 to have it repaired. I had photos, measurements, even rubber samples from his bumper and my car. Went to small claims court and said my part, then he said to the judge "I didn't do it." Judge said I didn't have enough prove and recommended we try to be friends. Yeah...the judge actually said that.

Fix it yourself and move on with life. Sucks, but keep it in perspective.

sounds about right ... it's fucking amazing the lack of common sense that is rampant in our judicial system
