Ohhhh mannnn
I just couldn't keep this to myself...
I kerbed my alloy wheel a bit and it's killing me inside Must get this fixed! How rubbish will that look for Gaydon but not sure if it can be done in such short time. It's nothing terrible but you know when there are glitches it's freaking annoying! Also, I want to buy a foam machine and jetwash hose thingy... what do you guys use and can recommend at a reasonable price? Ta. |

LOL no.. I'm sticking to OEM 230's! Love the look and once I'm lowered, I'll probably fall in love all over again lmao.
Just need a good handy tool for snow foam and get to a good level of shine, nothing OTT. |

Ohhh I am so sorry, I know how it feels - it happend to me a few years ago when I had brand new M6 wheels !!! I could hear the kerbing noise at the time - it was so horrible... I had to spray all of the wheels, but it was worth it - new look once again Yeah !
Best of luck mate ! PS. How did you kerb it ?

Is this any good? I tried it quickly but there doesn't seem as much pressure as you'd find in a car wash place, plus the lance I have looks quite short-ish, not sure if this has any relevancy though. It also has the slot of the foam / soap bottle which is attached but didn't have any substance to try it out. The £39 deal this guy's offering - is it a decent kit with strong pressure? Anyone used this before on here? Pls share your thoughts. |

Not enough pressure in my view
These are cheap and are highly rated http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nilfisk-X-Tr...tp_s2_edpp_url Personally I would wait and see if BQ do 20% of everything this coming bank holiday and get the best Karacher they have. The detergent bottles which come with PWs are no good for snow foaming. |

Shame you have damaged your wheel. Have a look here though:
Could try it yourself. Easy enough. As for the snow foam, I use it. You need a decent pressure washer. I have a Karcher K3, they dont make them anymore, but it is an excellent washer. I basically looked for one with the longer lance hose. This brought me to the K3. It means its a slightly better washer (you could always just by the longer hose), but I find it perfect as I can park the washer at one corner of my car, and get all round it without moving the washer again. The snow foam lance then attaches to the trigger, so its the PW that gives you the pressure. The SF lance can then adjust solution dilution and spray pattern, so you get the perfect application of foam for you. Its not a miracle worker though. It is only really a pre-wash. Unless you polish/wax regularly, and snow foam every other day, you will still need to hit your car with a bucket and wash mit. If you keep your polish / waxing up though, and do snow foam every other day though, you will only need to do a full clean every couple weeks. Weather permitting. Still, I do use it EVERY time as a prewash. Then bucket and mitt, followed now by Tardis then a polish then wax. Car does look good so long as you use the right stuff. I have been using Meguires Hyperwash for snow foam duties as well as for the actual wash, and with good results. And it lasts AGES. |

That's a great DIY videa - might actually give it a go but what products can you recommend?

Can't really recommend any products in particular. Halfords do stock kits for alloy wheel repair, so I would imagine you could get an idea from a wee look in there. But realistically, your just looking for metal filler, metal primer and paint. Shouldn't be any more than £20-30, and you'll have all the stuff for when it happens again, rather than £50-£60 per wheel.
I believe they also do a paint matching service, so you should manage to get a reasonable match up for the colour. If not, BMW might have sell it, but they will likely be even more expensive. Get a price from them first though, as dealers can often be as cheap as Halfords. |

Have an Autobrite snow foam lance for my Nilfisk Alto washer and it is a decent bit of kit. It can be easy to cross thread the plastic container but just takes a bit of practive.
Have just finished my original 5l pot of Autobrite Magi Foam and need to get some more. Friend of mine recommends putting a bit of shampoo into the mix as well as the foam for a better clean. |

I've just finished 5l of Autobrite magifoam and I don't rate it. It makes a lovely thick foam that sticks to the car beautifully but it doesn't really do very much useful cleaning.
Before that I had Bilt Hamber foam, it didn't foam all that nicely, it didn't stick to the car for very long but it had a much better cleaning action and actually did some useful cleaning - I'll be going back to that now. If you're buying a new pressure washer steer clear of Karcher. I blindly went into BandQ and bought a nice looking Karcher washer last time I needed one, it lasted 12 months and 4 days then burst into flames on my driveway a few weeks ago. Turns out this is common as they use cheapo plastic pumps. My new Nilfisk is much better and uses a proper pump. |
