Spacers for E92
Hey guys,
Two things: 1 - Spacers 2 - Coilovers 1.. As the wheels are coming off, I've decided to throw on some spacers. Can I please grab advice as to what size I should go for and best place to source the parts (nice and cheap folks nothing extravagant but not some crappy ones either). I for some reason have this thinking that 20mm rear and 15mm front will do just right but it all depends on the ride height if I'm correct? Which brings me onto my next point... 2.. The coils are going on my Daily Drive therefore not slamming, if anything, just going a tad bit lower than the M sport coupes to start with (in trying to eliminate the wheel gap without losing ride quality) and take it from there. For that sort of height and the aim to get flushed as possible without any rubbing issues, what spacers will you recommend and which ones?? Please advise =) |

with spacers mate would try and keep it under 15mm if possible
10mm and 12mm are perfect! anything over 15mm can cause problems and become unsafe and it is a lot of load on the extended bolts! just my 2p's worth

Cheers everyone, totally forgot about my thread there.. yeah well I paid STS in Slough a visit today as had a day off work and they said it's best to get the car lowered first and then go from there re: spacers. For the tracking, they have someone across the road (which I also noticed) who run a garage and do mainly tracking. When I asked the STS people what machine is used, he said he's not too sure and when I prompted if its a 'Hunter' machine, he said it doesn't matter if it's the best machine in the world, if you've got joeys behind it, it'll never be right, but vouched these guys would do a good job. I've already got someone lined up for the coilovers but need to get this alignment business in place asap.
Good advice and no hard sale. Did like some of the stuff they had in-store. My gf said I was like a kid in a candy shop! |

If it helps, here is my pre-LCI E92 with H&R spacers. 10mm front, 15mm rear. I tried 20mm rear, but in my view it just didn't look 'right' somehow - too much tyre showing. And in case you're wondering, it's fitted with these:

MV3's are 18",whereas MV4's & 313's are 19",so you can go with a wider spacer with MV3's on the E92.

Tyso: You have I believe the MV4's and depending on how low you want to go, how wide you want your stance to be (strecth tyres etc etc) you'll need to take that into account.
I'm in the same boat as you having puchased some BC coilovers from a forum member. I'm going to lower the car first to the point of trying to eliminate the majority of the gap and probably go with 10mm - 12mm spacers or at best, 15mm. That'll give it a nice stance. Have u seen any cars / stances you've liked? Might be a good starting point. :-) |

To be sure what spacers you need you just need to measure. See here:

I have the MV4's and 10 mm spacers all round. Rubbed very slightly on rear offside but I've just had the car realigned and it's now at the maximum camber on the rear allowed within the factory spec. Still rubs very slightly if you're thrashing it on a crappy UK B rd but it's very rare. Hope this helps!
