Service intervals 335i

Ok so service reminder warning came on a few weeks ago saying I had 1000 miles before service. Earlier I went on YouTube to find out how to reset it because the car was serviced about 1000 miles ago by previous owner so I guessed they had forgotten to reset it. Only now it's reset it says 31000 miles to next check! Surely services should be done more regularly than this?

It will fall soon.

Services are conditional based and it will work out you average driving style. Either 31k is the default or you have driven like a snail since resetting.

Mine has been serviced at 15, 29.5 and 44k all when required.

I haven't moved it since resetting. I suppose that makes sense though, just assumed it would be set at 10k reminder or whatever is likely to be recommended for n54.

I'll keep an eye on it tomorrow

I don't get the CBS indicator. Why does it say like 6/2013 and 16000miles on the dash? Within the 16k or when I hit 16k cause I've nearly done 27k now on my car?

That's the fixed 32,000 mile / 2 years 'vehicle check' which is a specific BMW service item.

It's not the oil change or brake fluid etc which will be listed separately on your i drive service list.

The 'vehicle check' is just that, they put it in a ramp for 15 minutes and check it over for any thing that might need doing.

If you want to look after a 335i (or any decent engine), you should change the oil 10k / 1 year max anyway, just good practice.

Mine gets new every 6K.
