Anyone ever get this fault message?
So I got into my car this morning and saw the seat belt icon stay on and the air bag icon too along with this message on the iDrive:
fault in passenger-restraint system affecting airbag, belt tensioner, or belt-force limiter continue to wear the safety belt I drove with it on for a bit and at a red light I popped the passenger seat belt on and it went away. Started the car up 3-4 times since then and haven't seen that message again. Any ideas? |

GBD - maybe you'll get more hits in the maintenance forum? This seems to be such an obscure fault, perhaps someone there might have seen it since presumably it could occur in any 3 series.

it happens sometimes in these cars, it shouldn't but it can. best thing is bring it in for them to see what triggered it, wouldn't want that happening prior to an accident. in some cases it can completely shut down the air bag / tensioner system.
