Scooby scratched my car . . .

Altercation with an Impreza this afternoon.
Apart from a few scratches, bruises and burns, Dog, Son and Self OK, thankfully.
Impreza driver not badly hurt. Corsa driver and passenger OK.

Not much wheelarch clearance now:

Needs a new door handle too:

A bit of a crease - the sunroof popped out.

Remnants of the engine mount:

Dog can't seem to understand what all the fuss is about:

Soft top Scooby - looked a pretty trick one too

Don't know if he hit the Corsa first, or at the same time as me (he was travelling in the same direction as the Corsa - and the 4x4 that was turning right at the time, but he missed that one!).

That's definitely a bad one. Glad to hear you're all OK. I can imagine your blood was boiling especially with your son being in the car too. Hope it all gets sorted without too much hassle.

Can't see that being fixed, too much heavy damage.

Glad to hear everyone is ok.

I think if my car was in that condition I would be desperate for them to write it off. I would never want it back and by the extent of the damage I would guess it would be too much damage.

As above, I do wonder if the Scooby driver has all modifications declared.

Hopefully get sorted quickly.

I wonder what exactly the Scooby is?

The plate appears to read 555 SRT (Subaru Rally Team)

Got a feeling it will be a well known car.

It's S55SRT and it's a P1. Just a P1 with a trick plate

Yeah I seen that.

Looks like he really thought he was a rally driver.

The car does/did look quite meaty.

It's a turbo car, it probably "was" 400-500HP, tuned of course as they are 276HP standard, over cooked it, and the back end come round.

S55SRT "was" a 2006 Prodrive test car.
It certainly looked pretty trick - obviously competition prepped - full cage, extinguishers, anti-lag & boost switches. Single seat too!

He was overtaking the Corsa and a 4x4 that was turning right (he was travelling in the same direction as the Corsa in the pic. I was coming the other way - the road curves to my right, so didn't see him until he was at the side of the Corsa. Tried to take avoiding action, but was heading for the hedge anyway. The black line on the grass is engine oil!

I think I was pretty calm - my son wanted to go over and punch the other driver!

The comment he also made was that I asked if he was OK before I looked at the dog. Only because I couldn't get my door open (outside handle missing!) and I wanted him to get out so I could check on the dog

I too "hope" it will be written off, but I know I'll have lots of hassle with Aviva to give me a decent valuation, and I'm not looking forward to that.

Mike

I googled the reg and only found it used to be on a proper rally Scooby on sale for €350,000.

I guess the Subaru driver will likely be facing dangerous and reckless driving charges?

Better get your homework done on the classifieds to find examples similar to your car to put an argument forward on the value side.

It is poor when you are not at fault but still find yourself out of pocket.

Nice find Kerr, always like the P1's.

Mike the roof is damaged. No way it will be repaired.

Wow, glad to hear everyone was OK after that. How many airbags went off in your car? I'm sure its a bit of a blur but I've often wondered how beneficial those top A post airbags are.

I hope they right it off for your sake too, looks like an awful lot of work to get that back to its former glory. I wouldn't mind your LCI rear end lol

Cheers.

Christ almighty, that's bad, but could've been so much worse. I take it the Scooby driver was being a tool then, overtaking two cars on a 'blind' bend, I'm sure Fuzz won't take to that lightly.

Glad everyone is OK though but seriously hope you don't get screwed by the insurers.
