Window switch location...

Is it just me or does everyone wind the bloody rear window down first
realise you've got the wrong button, have to wind it up then reach practically down to your ankle and have another go with the right one.

It is in an awkward position, but I've never got the wrong switch. I would prefer it to be somewhere else, but I don't really mind it that much.

i liked the E46 arrangement better. It was a lot more convenient for everyone regardless of size or seating arrangement. I wonder what made them change it?

Yep, probably 30% of the time I'm hitting the rear button. The E46 designs were much better.

I've been called a monkey a few times. Wrestled in high school back in the 20's. They came in handy. 2 seasons.. no one took the monkey. Have these rascals in dreams every now and then too. I could be changing....

The last car/truck I owned where I had to wind down or up the window was a 1982 Chevy S-10 POS. Since 1984 I've had pushbutton control of all of my cars' windows.

I was just teasing you, glad to see you have a sense of humor

One question though, what do you mean you wrestled in high school back in the 20's? that would make you like 90+ years old?

No sweat. I do not take stuff on here to heart. I think everyone knows an orangutan can't type. The 20's was more humor. That would = DEAD. I am a bit younger than that.

also, every passenger that has been in my car complains about the location of the window button on the passenger front door.

I actually drive with my left shoe off so that I can hit the window switches with my toes.

In my opinion this is the only part of the car that is poorly designed. The mirror control is a far stretch, and the window control is a short stretch. I guess germans were just built with long arms.

I mean if you're tall enough so that you can scratch your knees while standing straight up, then you don't have a problem with the window switch.

I have short arms so I bought a coupe specifically for this reason. Oh the horror. If I had bought a sedan, I would've probably made a thread about this.

I think the design of the passenger window switch is worse, the switch panel is blocked by the grab handle
