Ghost "AW" 335i Blast me past 155....!

So I was on my way to pick my GF up from Melbourne, FL from West Palm beach, FL. That must be about 120 miles distance between point A-B. I Entered I 95 from EXIT 70 @10:25AM and I sided with an Alpine White e92 335i. we were both cruising @ 85mph for about 10 miles and then he started pulling away, 100, 120, 140, and then, 155 MPH came, BUT he Kept Pulling away viciously fast My car has the sport package, w' 6MT my top speed as you all know is 155 for the sp package and i believe around 135mph for the non. so my question is, how was that possible ? I have searched every web site and there is nothing that i can find as a speed ? restrictor remover? (if that is what is called)

I am a New Member, actually this whole thing happened today and i came on here hoping to find him !

he had a "e90post.com" sticker on his drivers and rear window along with an "AOPA" sticker and he also had the front lip, stock rims. Anyone has an idea who that might be?

Doesn't the Procede software increase the speed limiter past 155? Maybe that's what he had...

Isn't AOPA the Airplane Owner/Pilot association? Maybe he thought he was flying!

The procede inreases your top speed as well ?
I thought it wasn't anything more than a "piggyback"

Speedometer error. Your Indicated 140 was most likely closer to 125-130. Speedo errors get much much worse at higher speeds. If at 65 you are actually going 62 etc, the inaccuracy increases dramatically as speeds increase. Not quite an exponential, but kinda.

Awhile back out in the sticks, my speedo had wrapped itself almost to 160, while GPS hand held had my top speed saved as 143 FWIW. Moving either way.

Glad you caught that Revlis. I was going to mention the same thing, and just forgot to include it. Percentage speedo error gets much greater at higher speeds.

5% at 50 mph is only 2.5mph. 5% at 150 is 7.5mph, maybe even more if it's not linear.

The actual max speed for a 335 SP is 150mph, not 155mph.

I maxed mine out on the Autobahn at an indicated speed of approx. 153mph.

Well, PPL (dealers) are watching. Just search for the 5-series governor remover on the internet and you will come around it like i did.
Enough said. Get ready to have the ECU shipped out and the car in the garage for 3 wks for me.

PM me, i might be able to help more.
