e91 for 2008 Rumors?
Greetings. I am brand-new to this site and have a couple of questions which may have been asked previously, so my apologies if it has.
I am looking to get a 3-series wagon to co-exist with my m3 in the garage. Our Volvo V70R is losing its place. I am looking at the 328i or 328xi, and considering the 2008's are just around the corner, does anyone know what changes are planned? Also, what is the average around-town mileage that people are getting in congested metropolitan areas like Chicago? |

My 328xiT 6MT does about 24+ mpg in my normal driving, which includes 15 miles of 65 mph cruising to and from work each day, plus 6 miles of traffic lights, etc., and the usual weekend errands. The first couple of tanks of mostly highway cruising, coming back from PCD on the Blue Ridge Parkway, were 28+ mpg. I expect mileage to improve as the engine breaks in. Current odometer reading is just over 2,000 miles.
I haven't read anything about 2008 changes.

nor do they mention anything of gas mileage in the E91, but as everyone here knows, the day is not complete without yelling about a forum search at least once.
Also, in Chicago, I get less gas mileage than the posted city mileage for my car. However its an 04 325 so its not the same, but basically chicago sucks for efficient driving.

There is a member named ChiTown who has a E91. A search of his posts might bear fruit.
Doubtful there will be any significant '08 changes, but probably a cosmetic tweak here or there and perhaps some options. Mileage is so subjective, based upon local and driving habits, etc. Ours gets about 20 on average in small city driving.

I got a 2007xit w/ step in my garage - it gets about 20 mpg in daily driving. 50% highway %50 city.
