Hate crime @ 1800 miles :( MFSOB
Hi guys,
Riding home just minding my own business... around 50 feet from the turn to my devlopment... then i hear a loud WHAM or loud THUMP... i figured i'd rode over something. unfortunately when I exited my car i saw this (see below)... There were no other cars within 200 feet, unfortunately i was preparing to turn and thought it was debre in the road... so i didnt look for somebody to kill. prob a good thing, its tough to control your actions when your hot headed. I took another drive by the area and there was no further occurance. i tossed on some FLAT light grey *sigh* primer/filler from pepboys and will see next week about scratch repair. btw there is a slight dent too. ppp

ah, I see.
From the pictures, the damage looks pretty fixable, you can get the paintless dent removal guys to remove the dent, as for the chip/scratch, you can see if a reputable detailer in your area can fix it for you good luck!

Wow, I immediately thought of BMW hate, not race.
Sorry about your incident, but it does look like something that can be fixed relatively easily. |

Thanks guys,
for some reason i'm pretty calm about the whole thing. i mean *shrug* what can i do. I'll call around on monday and see what the damage will be. similar incident happen with my G35, some punk kid around lol 8-10 every day i'd drive down the road and he'd give me a nasty look. one day i was driving down the road and he reared back his arm , i saw something fly and i heard a thump. needless to say i slammed on the brakes hopped out of the car and screamed at him. he just stood there... untill i did AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGHHHHHHH!!!. then he ran. obviously i couldnt do anything to him, and his mother was probaby a bad parent & on welfare. so again i just take it. oh well ppp

Bummer PP. You'll never know the motive. When I lived in JC. Some kids threw a rock at me as I was walking into my building. I was wearing a suit parked my car behind a gated lot. I gotta believe that was the reason. I think the car is a magnet for economic resentment. Its hard to see someone inside, actually. BTW, I chased those brats for three blocks! Pretty stupid, but it made me feel good!

With my 2000 e46 coupe, some kids hiding just passed an intercection, threw a huge rock and eggs at my car. The rock hit just below the passenger side window and created a spider web effect in the paint. The eggs came in the passenger window, one hit the ceiling, the other hit the back window. Talk about a rotten mess to clean up. The egg on the felt roof liner was disgusting.
First thought, grab glock, go back and hunt. Second thought, call police and have them drive by to find nothing. Went with the second thought. |

With all due respect, you guys are giving the rest of us with BMW's a bad name. Based on some of the replies about bad mothers, milk cartons etc, its no wonder they assume we are assholes. Seems to me that most of the hatred is right here in this post.
I personally don't belong to that group. in the end, its just a car guys, please lighten up with the eliteist attitudes..

i had some stupid college kids tear of my front license plate and crack the front of the car in the process. i've also had about 10 tire air caps stolen. bmw's are apparently popular targets for car terrorism.
damn kids these days, i tell ya

i'd hazard a guess and say almost all of us wouldnt take measures that would get us in bigger trouble over a dent/ding. however if need be, gather data... and return a year or so later and address it within reason.
my coworker (man, his wife, and two kids) were driving a minivan home during mischief night... a dark road + a rock shattering the passengerside window showering & cutting his wife with glass. I know that if he was able to catch them it wouldnt be good... situations such as this you need to do what you got to do. While im not saying he would kill them anything could happen. I can understand why people (stories in the news about a year ago) had fireworks shot at their cars and they ended up running down some kid(s). girfriend er slash that... fiance was like just wait a month or more and cool down. I was like you dont have a dark grey car with light grey primer on the scratches and have to walk past the front of the car many times a day. It sticks out like a pink car in a black car convention ! take care guys ppp

What part of your car is that? The photo is so close up, I can't tell if that's your hood, bumper, top or trunk. How do you know someone threw that at your car?
