Car burning smell, engine over heatings (red warning)
My engine temp showed 240, was driving 15 minutes away from home, car suddenly popped up on the dash engine in yellow, then after 5 seconds red, wouldn't accelerate at all. Waited 2 hours to cool down, was able to drive it back to my cousins place, which was about 5 minutes more... (called my cousin before that and he waited while car cooled down) while driving it was low temp, no engine over heating or anything such as, but car wasn;t running on full power at all, was on HALF power. No SES lights or half engine sign, car was still smelling like it was burning and nonetheless it was making A SHIT LOAD OF NOISE, my cousin when I parked at his place said, DAMN, TURN THAT SHIT OFF. Very very loud cluttering noises and what not..
What can be the problem? I had it towed to dealership friday night. They said they can't look at it till Monday! |

Tune or BT cable? Read the codes so you know what you are dealing with. If you dont have one then check the charge pipe to see if it popped off and check the intercooler piping on the driver side as that may have popped off as well... Texas must be a furnace right now and some oil in the charge pipe or intercooler piping tract may have caused them to pop off...
BTW post this in the N54 section, you may get better responses there. Last edited by Simple5; 06-24-2012 at 01:51 PM.. |
