Does 6FL connection charge iPhone?

Does 6FL connection charge iPhone when the car is running? Have seen one thread in another forum that says it does not. Have searched, no results.

I think it should, but like you I think I read somewhere on this forum that it does not, but with my limited experience so far it appears to be charging. If it charges an iPod I don't see any reason why it wouldn't charge the iPhone. There are a number of threads on the various iPhone forums that do say that the iPhone charges must faster and deeper with the a/c charger vs. through the USB in a PC, and I'm assuming that holds true for charger through 6FL.

No it does not.

I have May production E92 with iPhone and using the 6FL Y-adaptor the iPhone does not charge when connected.

BMW has info regarding this issue. Apparently the 6FL cable does charge the iPhone, but at too low an amperage to light the charge light on the phone. There is a new Y-cable coming from BMW in August that is supposed to correct this issue.

well the usb adapter could be used to go to mini-usb, but the 6fl cable has the proprietary apple adapter at the end

I just plugged a standard apple ipod cable from the car to my iphone, and it seems to charge, but a message pops up on the iphone stating that this accessory is not intended to be used with the iphone.
