Why my 335i?
So I take my car into service the other day and I drop it off to get my squeaky seat fixed. When I go to pick it up they is a half-dollar sized dent in my front bumper.
They are going to fix it and all, but I was wondering can the techs reset the odometer in the car with all the new computer diagnostic goodies they have? It would make me feel beter to know that some tech just ran into a wall with my car rather than something while joy riding. If anybody is going to hit things in my car I want it to be me. Chicks dig bimmers with scars. |

Chicks dig that? I thought they'd wonder whether you were too cheap to fix it

From my experience with BWM service, I will only take my car to them if I really need the problem fixed.
I had multiple incidents where the car either gets scratched or rubber mats being stolen.

I took someone's advise and did that with my G35 Coupe. My new car smell went away and was replaced with the smell of Napalm in the Morning for about a month. It did increase my appreciation every time I watch the Apocalypse Now DVD however.

To minimize the penalty on over-mileage, they will "fix" the odometer for the benefit of the customer. In return, the customer will buy another BMW from the sales person. The people who get "screwed" are the people who buys CPO or non-CPO used-cars. This is the #1 reason I still haven't found and bought a used-car. Finding a reliable one is like a needle in a hay stack.

Odometer tampering is a federal offense at that. Seems like a lot of hassle/risk just to take a run of the mill car out for lunch.
You must not have had enough wrench time in your days... WD smells like "fixed". |

We took my wife's '05 Honda Odyssey to the Honda dealer for service and when we got it back there was a Playboy left in it.
I really didn't want to know any more. |
