iPhone with AUX not working
Hi,
I use the Monster Ultra-Low Profile Charger with Dock Connection with my iPod and it works great. Just picked up an iPhone yesterday and the same Monster cable is not working with it. The audio just plays through the iPhone speaker and is not passed to the aux cable. Anyone else experiencing this with the iPhone? Anyone using the iPhone with an aux cable? Bluetooth for the phone works great, just need to get the ipod aux working. Thanks. |

Use the 3.5mm jack instead. The iPhone dock connector is not the same spec as the iPod and puts out different data iirc.

those canny guys at apple trying to make even more money off you making ou buy more adapters.
seriosuly that sucks, I expected that any accessories you had for your ipod would work with the iPhone, but I guess not. |

Obviously they changed something, but why does the dock connector supply audio to the 6FL?

When you plug in the adapter, the iphone will say "this device is not compatible". Select the option that says "use anyway" and it will work. I have the belkin adapter and it works fine for music through the ipod connector.

Long time lurker first time poster.
I had the same question and got the answer today. I use a SIK Imp adapter. Sik tells me that due to the radio interference from bluetooth, wifi, and GSM, Apple has disabled the Line Out functionality of the dock connector. However, they tell me that their products were already magnetically shielded and should not interfere but Apple has to make the software adjustment first. Hope this helps, for now back to the BlackPod for me. |

I had a monster charger and had the same problem. I did find a temporary solution to this without resorting to using the 3.5mm jack.
I just took the dock that came with the iphone, stuck it in my car, and stuck the aux cable into the dock! Line out(dock connector) to AUX connection in your car! I really liked how my Monster charger set up... i really really hope something incredibly similar comes out for the iPhone.
