Iphone is melting

When my phone is connected with the adapter unther the armrest it somethimes turn of itself and shows on the display the phone needs to cool down.

It happens after 45-60 min.
When touching the phone is like touching a hot cup of tea.

Individual problem or does the M5 provides more power to the phone battery the faster you drive??

I doubt it's about the car. It probably has to do with iPhone's lithium battery, I once broke my iPhone and its battery caught fire. How about USB and normal adapters at home?

Probably has more to do with it sitting in a confined space than it does with the iphone

Might be - I just noticed that in my glovebox on the C63 there is actually a vent next to the Aux adapter.

My original BMW iPhone adapter has a built in fan for cooling the iPhone.
Bought it today, hope it works...

I have the version that includes a fan and still had that happen. But it only happened once and it was on a hot Texas summer day, but then again I seldom use that cradle anyway. USB connectivity gets me everything except PlugIn and video playback (neither of which I care about) without the hassle of taking off my case -- though in either of those scenarios, I usually forget my phone in the car, so I pretty much stick to Bluetooth audio except for long trips.

All in all, ~$250 for a cradle that will almost certainly be incompatible with the next-generation iPhone is a pretty raw deal IMHO.
