Sonic tuning coilover vs. ST
Can someone give me some input? Quality, ride, and overall performance.
I am debating between the two. I need better handling for my car and I heard with ST it's basically just lowering your car on stock suspension handling.... Anyone with experience care to chime in? |

I have Sonic Tuning S1 Coilovers. The install was pretty straightforward. I followed a couple of DIYs here on e90post.com
Ride Height is perfect for me, i am not maxed out yet but pretty good for me on stock 162s. Compare to other cars (non-bmws) people who sat in my car has complimented me how smooth my ride is (this is with 5 people total in the car along with over 50lbs worth of bowling balls in the trunk). The rears i have it setted at medium and the fronts i have it set pretty hard. I havent heard anything bad about ST coilovers, but i know they are a sister product of KWs. Sonic Tuning are from taiwanese products. So the parts are same parts that other brands uses, such as BC Racing, and etc. Last edited by LocDawgg; 05-09-2012 at 11:11 PM.. |

I can tell you that my Sonic Tuning S1s ride just as well as KW v2s on a friends car. Granted I have to run them at a pretty soft setting for the same ride softness but we can't tell a difference. I've already put on about 20k miles on them and I'm VERY pleased with them. I'm sure you'll be happy with them.
