Can someone tell me what lowering springs to use just to bring my xi down a little bit. not looking for performance enhancements and don't want to jeopardize the ride quality.

i just need better look and once it goes down i want to put some spacers.
that's all.

I say your best option is a good spring and shock combo, for performance I suggest coil overs , you can also go with springs only on stock shocks but you will effect the ride quality, definitely harsher ride and you might blow up your shocks sooner, h&r makes sport spring for our cars, some people have gone with eibach pro kit built for the I models because they say it is better ride quality, as far as shocks you don't have much choice other than bilstein hd, I think Koni makes shocks only for the rear, I did take a chance with h&r sport springs on my stock shocks , since I did it myself and i didn't have to pay labour in case I had to change my shocks, it looks really good, and considering the fact that I already have 140 km on my shocks, the ride is not so bad at all, it is defiantly stiffer and harsher specially when you go over bigger bumps but on smaller bumps and road defects I find it more smoother than my stock, I'll see how long my shocks will take these stiffer springs and then when the time comes I will change my shocks as well, good luck

Lots of info great on this site already. Basically the Eibach Pro Kit will give you a nice drop with a softer ride than the H&R springs. I have been in an E90 with the Eibachs and the stock shocks & RFT's and it wasnt too bad at all. Changing the tires to non-RFT's will improve the ride quality as well. Eventually you will have to change the stock shocks as the lower ride height/stiffer springs are harder on the shocks and will wear them out faster.

I have had Eibach pro-kit for 2 years, no issues. The part number is the same fo the I. I also had HR, but the rake was a little much for me.

^compared to stock and the H&R, how would you rate the eibach? i've driven a car with h&r and honestly didn't like it too much. way too stiff on stock shocks. are eibachs more closer to stock or closer to the h&r? (of course all on stock shocks)
