Bluebook is $35k, so there argument is going to be that its already under book value, trade-in value is $28k so thats probably close to what they paid maybe a little less. I'd probably go at 28 and see what they say, its getting close to the end of the month, and I I've gotten $5000 off 35,000 before.

No sport package.

I was considering offering $30K. I also want the extended Maint. up to 100K. I think that goes for about $2K, right?

30k is a fair offer. I bought my 2010 with the same options + Nav with 25k miles for 32k a few months back.

I'd offer them 30 flat. If they refuse, walk away from it. There's a lot of other cars out there.

Good plan. The problem is that there are very few 2009 335's around the Tri- State area in white/beige. Plenty of black ones. My other option was a 2011 328i xDrive but everyone has told me there is no comparison, drive and performance wise.

Well, coming from a 328 xdrive owner I can say that I'm very happy with my car. However I do realize that the 335 is the better, albeit more expensive machine. That being said, you don't have to buy it from the tri-state area, you could go out of state to buy. Then you'll be more likely to get a car that's optioned a bit better too.

Thanks for the input. Perhaps I will drive the 328 before making a final decision. I am looking 300+ miles outside my area.

Unless your desperate I would wait for the right car and deal. And yes I drove both and really love the performance of the 335.

You should drive both in manual if you can. It really makes the 328 come alive. I much prefer driving my E90 328 xdrive manual over my dad's E92 335 xdrive auto. You should also get the sport seats. That's the only mistake i made on mine (albeit it wasn't an option at the time).

Sorry... do not want a manual. With the car being a business car, I need an Auto. Plus, I can always use the Step if I feel the need to "shift".

Fair enough. I hear that the auto in the 28 is garbage, so that makes your choice pretty easy then! lol.

So today, the sales rep tells me his manager is taking $800 off so now there at $32,800. I replied telling him that if I make an offer it will be lower than his manager's number.

Would an offer of $30,000 be a real low-ball? My max is $31,000.

Any input of the best way to handle this negotiating? I'm new to this.
