Bluebook is $35k, so there argument is going to be that its already under book value, trade-in value is $28k so thats probably close to what they paid maybe a little less. I'd probably go at 28 and see what they say, its getting close to the end of the month, and I I've gotten $5000 off 35,000 before.

30k is a fair offer. I bought my 2010 with the same options + Nav with 25k miles for 32k a few months back.

I'd offer them 30 flat. If they refuse, walk away from it. There's a lot of other cars out there.

Good plan. The problem is that there are very few 2009 335's around the Tri- State area in white/beige. Plenty of black ones. My other option was a 2011 328i xDrive but everyone has told me there is no comparison, drive and performance wise. |

Well, coming from a 328 xdrive owner I can say that I'm very happy with my car. However I do realize that the 335 is the better, albeit more expensive machine. That being said, you don't have to buy it from the tri-state area, you could go out of state to buy. Then you'll be more likely to get a car that's optioned a bit better too.

Thanks for the input. Perhaps I will drive the 328 before making a final decision. I am looking 300+ miles outside my area. |

So today, the sales rep tells me his manager is taking $800 off so now there at $32,800. I replied telling him that if I make an offer it will be lower than his manager's number.
Would an offer of $30,000 be a real low-ball? My max is $31,000. Any input of the best way to handle this negotiating? I'm new to this. |
