09 335 E92 owner's review of F30 328
I have had the 2012 328 for 6 days now. My car was being walnut blasted for carbon build up, and then the dealer made a boo boo.
Link: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=679771 I wanted to give my review of the new F30. Looks: I am still excited to see the F32, but it I like the looks of the F30. I would have rather had the Sport model, but I got a Modern Line as my loaner. It's funny as all my friends and co-workers think it is a 5 series... Interior: It honestly isn't that much different from the E9x. There are a few nice additions like the accent lighting. It does have the ambient lighting in the doors like in my E92. It also has ambient lights that come out of the air bag notches above the seatbelts between the doors. You can also change the ambient lighting from a BMW orange/red, to a 'modern' LED white. The iDrive is a little updated compared to my 2009 idrive. You can't check the oil until the car is warmed up and sitting still too. It also shows the Nav and entertainment info below the tach and speedo. Cup holders are bigger, and better placed, but I never had a problem with the old ones, honestly. Suspension: It seems more soft, and I have a non sport suspension in my xDrive. It still handles like a BMW, but seems to 'float' a little more. I will look foward to the M sport-suspension Engine: The N20 impressed me the most. The N20 blows the N52 out of the water. I have driven E90 loaners with the N52, so I have a good comparison. The N20 does click a little at start up more than my N54, but it does go away as the car warms up. There is tourque everywhere just like my N54. When you switch it into 'Sport Mode', the car really comes alive. It pulls almost as hard as my 335 going from 80-100 on the highway. I smoked a guy in a Cadillac DeVille 2000ish V8, and he was pissed.. I have ran the car 70% of the time in sport mode, and I am still getting 27.9mpg with mixed driving. The gap between the 328, and 335 just got a lot smaller. I can't believe BMW got so much power out of this 2.0L turbo. In summary it is a great car, and I am looking forward to owning an Msport F30 or an F32 in about 2 years!

Sounds about right. I was really impressed with the N20. My thoughts were, no need for the N55 in this car. I have a 528i loaner right now and it's just too heavy for the N20 to push around. It's just kinda adequate. In the 328i it feels much better. My guess is that they are going to come out with the N55tu and bump up the power to create a wider gap for all the speed merchants out there, basically everyone reading these threads.
