How do I get my lights to come on when I unlock the car? Any ideas

Was wandering the same. There is an option of 'home lights' in idrive but seem to only activate interior lights when unlocking

Do you have auto headlights? if so leave switch in that position rather than 0 so when you unlock the car the angel rings light up

Don't think it's possible without auto lights which you will see on your light switch.

Not sure if it's the same, but I have 2011 e90 (without auto lights). If I leave the lights at on position, they switch off when the car is locked. When I press open button the side lights (angels) come on. Then on engine start up full lights come on.

just tried mine with auto lights on and nowt other than interior lights and door handles

Think the op is up the creek as I would say his is the same set up as mine. If you leave the lights on and turn the car off they go off and don't come on when you unlock. If you leave the sidelights on and turn the car off they just stay on.

Wasn't get you home lighting an option? I've got it on idrive but never used it. I'll try it tomorrow...

I definitely have an option on iDrive, but only to set the duration of it as opposed to on or off...

If you dont have the auto lights option as like me if you have the dipped beams on.Turn off the ignition and leave the switch as it is, when you lock the car the front lights go out and when you unlock the car they come on.

does that mean that auto lights and home feature don't work together? ie one or other?

You set "Home Lights" before you leave the car & should work in addition to the Auto function
