Im about to buy a 2007 335i, sugestions?
Hi guys, first off a little about me. Im 21, currently own a 2002 toyota celica gt-s 6spd which I made turbo(400whp). Always have owned japanese cars. Im looking to get a car thats a little more of a daily driver, but that can still pack something. For me that car is the 335i... Now im going to check out a 2007 335i e92, silver grey, 6 spd manual with coral red interiors... I know about the HPFP failures, but this one has never had any problems with it... Any other heads up you guys think I should be aware of comming from japanese cars(malfunctions, common issues, etc)?
Thanks guys and opinions are more than welcome!!!

If it's not a CPO don't do it. You're better of with a CPO 08+ since even the CPO on 07 models will be over by the end of this year. (4 initial years + 2 Years CP)

i think it depends what you wanna do. if you wanna leave it pretty much stock then i would try to find something with as much cpo as you can thats still afordable. If your gonna do tune and FBO then the 07CPO ending may not be to bad.

Sounds exactly like my car - I love it and my car has been great - I never had any HPFP or related issues. Only two minor warranty claims in 5 years - most trouble free car I have owned, period. I wouldn't have any reservations about picking it up.

Hope you mod that E92 a little more tastefully than the Celica.
Good luck, obviously try to get a CPO'd car, or one with a warranty. Might be tough for an 07. |

Read The Forums
for several weeks.
Will likely take you that long to get familiar with the issues. 60+ K is a bit much, I'd say, unless you intend to be ready to work on it. Did you do your own modifying ? If you've got the mechanical expertise, that is one thing. You should factor in the likely things to go wrong, and the cost to repair them. If they don't happen, then consider yourself to be ahead.

If you have to get an 07 to make it work, you can't afford this car. Honestly, 2007s are going on 6 years old and well over 60,000.
Not trying to be mean, but I always advise against the guy that buys an 5+ year old car because he wants something that was way out of his price range new or slightly used. Unless it's a second car for a project or something, it's too old...especially a car with twin turbo. Get a 328i. |

Always one dick in the bunch...don't understand why people have to add in their .02 in a negative way. What an asshat.

If you go for the '07 335, make sure to have (preferably) a couple k socked away in case a big repair comes up. Other than that these cars are built really well and will last a long time, they are just expensive to maintain.

OP, if the car checks out to be all good and you get a good price, then go for it and don't look back! You're going to love it
