Can't drive my 335i :(

I tore my right achilles tendon a few days ago and had surgery on it. I'm told I won't be able to drive for at least 2 months. Will it be ok to let the car just sit there for two months or should I turn it on once in a while? It's going to suck not being able to drive...

It will be fine, I didn't turn mine on for 6 months and it was perfect.

Thanks for the responses. I guess I'll save on wear and tear for 2 months.

I've been training my left foot to use the gas pedal and brake in the event of the right one not being able to!

Your car will be fine! hope you heal quick!

You didn't have any battery issues?? I would have expected it to be dead for sure...or at least need a charge.

I ruptured my left patellar tendon in February, had surgery, and could not drive for six weeks...

I'm still in physical therapy and was told it will be close to a year before I am back to 100%.

Keep a positive attitude, because it is easy to get frustrated when you cannot just hop in the car and go as you please, relying on someone else.

Good Luck!!

DONT JUST START THE CAR AND LET IT SIT AND TURN IT OFF!!!! thats very bad for it. you should either put stabil in the tank and let it sit while you heal or have someone drive it. but dont just turn it on and let it sit and then turn it off.

^This. Your gas deteriates over time. It should start after 2 months still but it wont run well until all the bad gas is taken out. Just have a friend or family member take it round the block every other week.

Oh man...that's horrible. Hang in there.

Have you heard about this new compound they found that can supposedly regrow limbs? I've seen a few Discovery channel shows that mentioned it. It sounds like something technology can now fix.

Good luck with your injury.

Did you lock your car when you stopped driving, if it's unlocked it drains the car battery

Good to know... Ya I wouldn't worry about it 2 months on gas and oil But 6-8 months I'd get oil changed and Fuel stabilizer put in. And since im crazy about mine put it on jack stands plus let air out of tires a little.
