Alpine upgrade - post 2009 - £300
I have sold my X1 so will take the Alpine out before it is traded.
£300 delivered. I also have a Prof radio that has been coded. Will swap that as well if you get me yours by Wednesday at the latest. My radio is the standard radio, no bluetooth, no dab, no cd changer. Would save someone the hassle of having to get their car coded. |

Hello
Does the alpine up-grade made much off a difference from the normal system? Is it easy to install or would you need to get it done by a professional? am very interested if its still for sale? thanks lee |

Hey Guy,
I'm interested mate. I know you know a bit about coding etc - mine is a Nav car so a swap won't help I am afraid. Any idea's what coding is invovled? I have a mate with an Autologic setup, but no idea if he knows what he is looking for etc. Could also go to a dealer for that bit (once I've fit the kit) but would want to know what to tell them! Cheers Matt |

Coding can be done by dealer, but which dealer makes a massive difference to price.
They charged me for 30 minutes labour, but other have been charged more. It is a very simple code, that is part of their retrofit path. You may not need to code the nav system at all. But of you find it too bright then coding will sort this out. Have a look at the install thread in the sticky at the top of the Tech UK section on here, it will show you what is involved. |

Thanks Lee,
Guy I have another question mate. I had a brainwave (I think) and thought that maybe the Alpine amp could power upgraded Earthquake subs. Think that would work? Matt |

Might struggle with them to be honest.
It will drive the L7 subs though, which I do have a pair of sitting here. Was going to put them in the X1 but didn't get round to it. Just haven't got a clue where I put them!! |
