ideas? - integrated iPod going haywire
Hey guys -- anyone else have the following problem, or have any ideas for me?:
I recently had my dealer install the iPod integration. Not the 6fl USB, but the one where it's hardwired via the glove compartment. At the same time, I bought a 4th generation ipod from ebay (used, though it looks fine on the outside, basically seems to function fine). Whenever I use the iPod in the car, however, it goes crazy. It's got a few tricks. It'll play a song for a few seconds, skip to the next, skip to the next (almost as if magically set to "scan"), then freeze altogether, and then eventually I get a "CD Error" message, disconnect, and kick me out to the radio (the "CD" because it's connected through the 6CD changer thing, in this kind of installation.) Other times, it'll just freeze. Other times, it'll give me the CD error message on its own, and disconnect. Anyone ever have similar problems? I'm trying to figure out if I need to go get a new ipod and try again. But I'd sure hate to get a new ipod and find out it had something to do with the car / installation itself. Thanks ahead of time for your thoughts...! |

go to local electronics store ie.. fry's electronics or bestbuy.. buy an ipod and test with your car.. and return it if the problem is still there and have the integration kit fixed by dealer. Dont buy it at the apple store. they have restocking fees.
