What wheels are these? Dealer says OEM

Looking at a 335 that has these 18's on. Dealer says they are OEM and cost $6k from BMW. This true??? If so is there a market for them if I wanted to part them out? What are they worth?

And should they drive the price of the car up that much? Dealer is using them as a big selling point when I am not the biggest fan and would prob sell them and get my choice if I decide to buy the car.

189's. but painted black. weak. painted oem wheels FTL.

btw, those things go for like 750-900 in the used market. with tires. painted black would put them in the lower half of the price range too lol

Excellent to know. So they only usually come in silver and these are definitely painted??

I will definitely keep this in mind as I continue to negotiate.

Those are 199's and are 19" not 18" like the 189's

So do they add that much value to the car? The dealer says they're worth $6k...

What would they go for if I were to part them out?

the long and short answer is: NO.

They "may" cost $6k from the dealer (big surprise) and BRAND NEW... however...

Go buy 2 of the same car, lets just take for example a 2008 3-series.

Both are the exact same year, mileage, packages, color, trim, etc.

The only differences are, 1 is lowered, has 19" wheels and a performance exhaust...

What car is "worth more" when trading it in?

The answer is neither. They are worth the same to a dealer on trade in value - private party may be a different story if you find someone who wants those mods, but to a dealer, big wheels and loug exhaust mean NOTHING.

Don't let those wheels drive the price up of the car. And no, you cannot take them off and sell them for "$6k" , good luck with that one. aftermarket value MAY be $600-800 depending on if including tires, condition, scratches, rash, etc.

Aftermarket parts should have zero bearing on the physical cost of the car. I would NEVER buy a car with any aftermarket parts on it because the dealer is hoping the prospect puts value on them, but hey that's me.

Tell them to sell those 6000 dollar wheels, get you a set of 189's with OEM runflats and renegotiate because those painted wheels mean nothing to you.
