Standard v tuned

Evening all, I have decided on purchasing an e90 2009 and was looking for a 320d m-sport but they are very rare here in Ireland with most going for the cheaper 318 version, hence the inflated price tag asked for the higher powered 320d.

I'm just wondering am I better off paying the extra money for the 320d and getting decent power as standard or do I go for a more readily available 318d and get it mapped?

Seeing as I have little or no experience of BMW you may be able to give me some valuable guidance !
Also Is there a big noticeable power difference in the two?

Thanks

Would love to!! Not sure budget will stretch that far!!
Told myself that the next car I buy will be kept standard after spending circa €7000 on modifying the last one...and am already looking at Carbon Fibre goodies & mapping for a car I haven't even bought yet!!
I foresee a few more nights in the doghouse if the missus finds out

The remap will cost you £500, that's about all the performance you can add to the car.
Definitely worth doing even if it means a night on the sofa.
