Clear Bra for a 12' 335is
Howdy Folks,
Was looking to pick up some info., details about installing a clear bra on a 335is: Is there a computerized print for the 335is or does it have to be hand cut? Who currently has the best product out there? ( I had a 3M bra on my 08' 335i, was curious if there is a better product). What is the typical going price to do the front end, front part of hood, mirrors? Thanks! Greg |

There will be a pre-cut version for your car. Several companies have a good product now. I just had my '11 335 done for $350 with the same coverage including fender corners. Can't remember the brand right now though.

id rather look at the ocassional chip than that unsightly line and increased orange peel. Everytime you wax your car youre really just waxing the 3m. To each his own, but I'll never understand this stuff. Like putting plastic on your couch.

To each his own. I will never own a BMW without the clear bra.

I went bumper full hood and fenders on my 3000GT Spyder and I have no regrets. Great protection and no line either.

+1. Or any Honda product. Paper thin paint gets the crap beat out of it if you live in a world with a lot of stones on the road.
I'd never own ANY car without the clear bra. Also saves the front clip from scratches/scuffs if a tool rubs your car in the parking lot. |

im a believer in the clearbra too. i had venture shield installed. full hood, front end, lights, fenders, mirrors and rocker panels.
first car with it, and i'll do it in the future from now on. do it while the car is brand new, while you can... getting the entire hood makes a world of difference in the appearance, or lack thereof i should say...

I vote for Ventureshield clear bra. I have this on my 07 Jet Black 335i and I love it. It is installed over the entire car; hood, front bumper, fender, mirrors, a-piller, rocker panel, rear panel, rear bumper, etc. The lines are not noticeable and there are no signs of fading. The clear bra is still malleable and 'soft'.
I had the 3M Clear Bra on a silver Z4, and that faded and looked obvious. The clear bra also became hard over time. I have nothing but good things to say about Ventureshield. Just like anything, it comes down to how your car for it - as long as you follow the manufactures/installers instructions it will look great for years. You are not supposed to wax the clear bra, but instead use a polish like Plexus. If you wax or use cleaning chemicals you are going to ruin the bra.
