Engine malfunction :(

This morning driving to work i get the engine malfunction and the car went into limp mode. The car is shaking and i have lost power. I started it back up during lunch and it is still happening

I have a 2007 335i, running a JB+ at 50% and did the 335i exhaust sound mod (golf tee mod). I have about 49,500 miles.

Will i be able to pull the error code by scanning in a normal OBDII scanner? Like if i went to autozone, they can tell me my issue with the car? Why then is BMW dealership charging me $130 ?

Correct me if i am wrong, will someone with te BavTech scanner be able to clear the code?

Does anyone know or can think of what can be wrong? I am thinking of removing the JB and plugging back in the exhaust mod to normal now...Hopefully that will fix the car?

Any help would be nice!

most likely a miss fire, could be a bad plug, or fuel injector, or could be a bad engine valve, or anything else for that matter

Should i remove the JB and plug back in the exhaust (golf tee mod) thing before taking it to the dealer? Isnt there a way they can still detect the tune?

Miss firing for sure - I had the exact same symptoms. I got new plugs.

JB wouldn't hurt but who cares about the exhaust. They might see codes relating to overboost or something if you don't clear them.
