New shocks

I have to replace my rear shocks, dealer is charging me 1300 including labor and tax..does that seem like a fair price? Any recommendations?

that's too expensive..

http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E90-330...n/Shocks/Rear/

parts 300$ and they charge u $1000 for labor it's a rip off. Find an independent mechanic who will do the labor.

Is that quote for rear only? Does it include alignment (not necessarily required for rear struts)?

If we are talking remove and replace of the rear struts only, a realistic estimate of labor would be an hour per corner (in your case 2 hours). Add that with two new struts and new bushings/hardware and your total should be almost half of what they quoted you.

Labor $120 x2 + OE Struts $150 x2 + Misc hardware/bushing ~$100 = $640 Total

I'd get another estimate. You may also want to consider replacing all 4 struts and get an alignment.

Take it to GPS (www.germanperformanceservice.com) in Brighton. or http://www.landsharkautomotive.com in Natick

GPS got "special" now, install all 4 corners and get alignment for free.

If you do it yourself over the weekend it would only cost $300-$400.

are they made out of gold??, you can get a full coil over system for all 4 corners installed for a little over that.

Labor for the rear is like $300 bucks at the most at an indy, don't ever go to a stealership unless your car is under warranty.

Avoid the stealership for anything not covered under warranty.

I had 4 Koni FSDs installed for less than that at a garage in Manhattan. The Konis are superior to the OEM shocks in handling and far superior in ride quality,
