BavAuto Scan Tool

Has anyone used this scanner from Bavarian Autosport and if so is it any good?

Will it read "shadow codes" in BMW's?

Haven't used the one from BAV AUTO but I have the one from Bav Technic. Its a little more but has more features and you can also use it for coding your car and actually reset the service reminders if you plan on doing any of your own maintenance....

BavTech cable does NOT do coding as we do on this forum - even though it states it does. Even BavTech admits this fact if called...

It's good for reading error codes, registering battery, etc - but if you buy a coding cable as described in the 'Coding' section of the forum, it can do all that the BavTech cable does + code all kinds of cool stuff - and the coding cable is cheaper

Does is read and erase shadow codes? If not, I would pass.

Have you tried your local AutoZone? They carry an array of OBDII scanners. Ebay is another alernative.
