E9x tour of Washington

Post pictures of your E90/E91/E92/E93 in scenic places around Washington. Share information about the location and interesting photos even if they do not include your E9x.

I just returned from a four day weekend road trip. I covered 1,450 miles.

Some of the pictures of Washington will go in this thread. Some of the Oregon pictures will go in the E9x tour of Oregon thread. There are a lot of them, so it will take several days to pick out the best. I shot 505 digital single pictures and several panoramas. I also shot a couple rolls of slide film that I will need to process and scan.

Here is a sample of one shot from today:

It was a great trip.

Cool pics! I've been waiting for this damn Seattle weather to improve a little so I could hit some backroads. So far I vote June 2007 the suckiest month in a long time for rain......

This picture was taken in Mt. Rainier National Park from the southernmost viewpoint at Backbone Ridge.

Here is the view from Highway 706 at Mt Rainier. This is the turnout at Reflection Lakes.

Nice Scott... Hell I've been up here now for a couple of years and still haven't been around Rainier. I hear that St.Helens is supposed to be a pretty cool drive as well.

OK exotic and Beautiful...

Here's one from the parking lot at work...

And the other from Ocean Park out on the Peninsula.

These two pictures were on Highway 123 near the Southeast corner of Mt. Rainier National Park maye a couple miles from the entrance.

Until I reached the park entrance I didn't know if I would be able to travel through the park. I didn't know where Chinook Pass and Cayuse Pass were located. A sign on the highway indicated they were closed.

The Stevens Canyon Entrance toll ($15) booth attendant said Chinook Pass and Cayuse Pass were both further North on Highway 123. I was going West through Paradise. This would be no problem.

These pictures are from the pullout at Box Canyon. Right behind me there is a short walk to a couple viewing platforms on the ridge looking out over the canyon. There are also outhouse facilities at this stop.

This tunnel was just after leaving the pullout at Box Canyon.

You have a beautiful car. It would look great in scenic landscape shots. It's been a while since I have been that way, but the Olympic Peninsula has a lot to see as well. The places I stopped on that trip was Hurricane Ridge, Rialto Beach, Ruby Beach and the Hoh Rainforest before ending up at Longbeach.

You really should go for a drive more often, Revlis.

A place on Mt. Rainier I really need to see sometime is Sunrise on the Northeast side of the mountain. I have never been there. And I want to hike the Carbon Glacier trail on the Northwest side which I did when I was a kid.

If you have photographed landscapes or sights worth seeing in Washington, maybe you could post them here. If you have already posted them in another thread, maybe you could link to them.

This one, I believe, is Louise Lake.

Very nice Shots Scott... I need to get with the program and post some pics.....

The only two pics I have are below.

1st one is after re-delivery when we were bringing her back from Yakima (Hahn BMW) back to Seattle. The picture is taken 50 miles south of Yakima heading towards Centeral Oregon. We took the long way back to avoid snowy passes on I-90 last Dec.

2nd pic is at Golden Gardens in Ballard. 335 is enjoying her 1st N. American sunset after the 1st detail.

Sunsets are great in Washington. Especially when there are cloud formations that carry the red or orange light.

In West Seattle, I would like to try taking late afternoon pictures from Alki. I think that would be a great place to take dusk/night shots also with the city lights in the background. Maybe next time I am in town.

At Paradise Park the view was mostly obstructed by clouds for the short time I stayed.

It looked like the trailhead at Kautz Creek was inaccessible (I think this was Kautz Creek anyway). Flood damage appeared to be the cause.

I never saw a creek run red before (er... a little more orange than red). This one sure was.

The Five Mile Drive at Pt. Defiance was a nice wooded area. No surprise that it rained while I was there.

I saw this raccoon.

There are a few viewpoints of the narrows between Tacoma and Gig Harbor. There is a second bridge nearly complete alongside the first. The original bridge no longer exists. You may have seen it in video. It was known as Galloping Gertie before it fell due to high winds.

Another raccoon.

Madrona trees are mixed in with the fir trees.

Okay my question to scottwww is... where are the bugs on the front of your car? I go for a four hour drive and I come back with the front of the car covered in dead bugs. Why is your car so clean in every shot? Are you wiping it down at every stop??

Beautiful shots and car by the way.
