So everytime I go to unlock my car with the key fob i have to get really close to the car like 5-10 ft away and then it will unlock. It will randomly unlock from far away too. I was wondering if this is a problem with the key's battery or something.

You don't drive far distances... Happens to me I only drive to work 5 miles a day. The longer u drive the more it's charged and further it will work from.

Actually i drive very long distances on average ~130 miles every startup

mine can unlock from far away. but the stupid thing locks only when im close to the car. its dumb but whatever lol

I'd try driving it a long distance like you said, and then when you get out of the car, try the distance. If it's fine right after driving, then it's probably a weak battery in the fob that's draining too quickly when you pull it from the dash.
